Hard Work

Well, here we are in 2010. As you will see there seem to be a lot of posts missing. In fact over a year's worth of posts. Upon discovery I was really mad but given time I have learned to accept it and now I will try to build it up again to what it once was.

With enough patience and effort it will be something to come back to again and enjoy what you find here. Effort is one action that goes into my work these days and since I started at Thumbtribe Mobile Solutions I had little time for myself. Not because my boss want a lot from me, but rather because I love my job.

At first I felt as if I'm thrown in at the deep end, but steadily I managed to find the skills to keep afloat. I don't see the river's current slowing down any time soon, so I might just have to go with the flow and do my thing.

I am still on the project that I started with in September (as soon as I got up to speed with my system) and by no means is it going to be completed soon. The new hype out there on the latest mobile devices is Widgets. Small applications on your mobile that let you view something as simple as the weather or the amount of paces you walked. It sits there on your home screen and when you need more functionality you enable the full mode where you have a lot more functionality with options to configure the application. The problem is that there is a different implementation of widgets on each different series of devices (like Nokia's WRT, Samsung with Windows Mobile and SGH, Andoid). At first I did not grasp what Phillip (my boss) wanted me to do, but with that I also was quite new in the field (story in the past). As I struggled my way forward the mist cleared up and I believe I'm on the right way. My coding speed is still really slow, but that is something that will come with time I hope.

I feel like taking a ride on my bike now. The weather is nice and cool for a change so I'd like to relax for a while.
